8月17日，“辟谣卡”向庞众望本人确认，网传信息不实。庞众望表示，当前并未因科研获得巨额奖金，会继续努力，不辜负妈妈对自己的期望。

In recent days, online rumors claimed Pang had received a 3 million yuan research award and donated the entire sum to establish an education fund in his mother's name. On Sunday, Pang clarified that he had not received such a large bonus, adding that he would continue to work hard and live up to his late mother's expectations.

据了解，今年26岁的庞众望，出生于沧州市吴桥县。其父亲因病无法与人交流，母亲下肢残障行动不便，而他自己还患有先天性心脏病。

但庞众望从未自怨自艾，而是不断奋发图强。他曾在采访中表示，“从小我妈妈就把我教育得挺乐观的，她常说人要往前看，我妈妈每天都在笑，我为什么要去难受？”

Born in 1998 in Wuqiao county, Cangzhou city, Hebei province, Pang grew up under difficult circumstances: his father was chronically ill, his mother disabled, and he himself suffered from congenital heart disease. Despite these challenges, he remained optimistic, crediting his mother's encouragement. \"She smiled every day — so why should I feel sad?\" he recalled.

2017年，庞众望在高考中取得优异成绩，被清华大学精密仪器系录取。

刚进入大学时，庞众望曾很在意别人的目光，“不是说在意别人看不起我，而是我害怕会有负众望”。

在本科的学习与科研中，庞众望找到了方向。临近毕业，他毫不犹豫地选择继续攻读博士学位。

之后，庞众望获得直博资格，只是母亲已遗憾离世。

In 2017, Pang entered Tsinghua University's Department of Precision Instruments. Initially burdened by expectations, he gradually found his passion for research and was later granted direct admission to the university's PhD program. Sadly, his mother passed away before witnessing his achievement.

母亲过世后，庞众望说自己很少在母亲面前流露语言上的情感，更愿意用行动来表达。“我觉得她给我起了这样的名字，我能够做的就是在未来不辜负她给我起的名字。”

如今，庞众望牢记母亲“为国家做贡献”的期许，立志科研报国。

他说：“我现在就是想努力把科研做好，向所有人展现中华儿女骨子里的那种韧性还有奋进，不管遇到什么样的困难，我要坚定地走下去。”

Pang said he rarely expressed emotions verbally, preferring to honor his mother through action.
